Tough Challenge for Qualifying Spots in SPFL

This season’s SPFL tournament is intensely competitive at the Francis “Baba” Lastic grounds in Gros Islet, with teams fiercely vying for qualifying spots.

On Friday, November 21, Dennery secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Central Castries, thanks to a 13th-minute goal from Gravin Reggie. This win solidifies Dennery’s position in the championship title race.

In another match, Gros Islet claimed a tight 1-0 victory against Mabouya Valley, with Baggio Edward scoring the decisive penalty.

Saturday brought more excitement as Soufriere triumphed over Choiseul with a 3-2 comeback. Choiseul initially led 2-1 at halftime, scoring through Darrel Francis and Ajani Louis in the 39th and 45+1 minutes. However, Soufriere responded with a brace from Dickson David in the 13th and 90+2 minutes, and Jardel Phillip added another in the 68th minute.

Additionally, Vieux Fort South displayed impressive offensive prowess, defeating reigning champions La Clery 2-0. Saviola Elva opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, while Shan Alfred sealed the win in the 90+1 minute.

Relegation Dogfight: Who Will Survive?

The final relegation picture in the 2025 Premier League is heating up! Here’s the breakdown:
– 10 South Castries (9 pts) : Confirmed last place. Even if they win their final match, they cannot catch Choiseul.
– 9 Choiseul (14 pts, 2 matches left) : Still fighting to survive. They must earn 4 points and a positive 2-goal difference in their remaining matches to reach 18 points and surpass Soufriere.

Upcoming fixtures:

– Tuesday, November 25: Choiseul vs. South Castries
– November 28: Soufriere vs. Gros Islet at 7:00 p.m.

This is a massive challenge, but survival is within reach! – 8 Soufriere (18 pts, season complete) : Waiting and watching. Soufriere survives ONLY if Choiseul drops points. If Choiseul earns 4 points with a negative goal difference of 10, Soufriere will drop to 9th.

– 7 Dennery (20 pts, season complete): Safe from relegation. Dennery can finish 7th or 8th, but there is no threat of relegation.
The stakes have never been higher!
