Technology Ready Policing

.

The government of Saint Lucia (GOSL), through the Ministry of National security has delivered 45 new laptop computers to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force {RSLPF}, in an effort to step up and modernize policing across the country.

These devices will strengthen the Criminal Investigation Department {CID}, and make crime-scene processing more accurate, sharpen investigative work, and give officers real-time access to essential police data, says Commissioner of Police Mr. Verne Garde.

The laptops are the latest installment of equipment handed to the RSLPF to aid in the constant fight against crime.

Only recently, new vehicles along with a quantity of bulletproof vests were handed over at a ceremony which included Prime Minister Philip Pierre, Crime Minister Jeremiah Norbert and the hierarchy of the Royal St. Lucia Police Force.

Meanwhile, a new cohort of recruits, currently in training, are expected to be ready for deployment in the new year.

.

A group of 96 new recruits are expected to graduate in January of 2026, with 82 joining the regular police body and the remaining 14 set to be installed as Port Police Officers.

The general body of the RSLPF was widely seen as inadequate with Police Commissioner Garde moving to close that gap.
