Awards will be presented across seven major categories, recognizing excellence in Arts, Occupational Awards, Community Awards, Organisation Awards, Individual Awards, Special Awards, and the prestigious Youth of Excellence Awards.
The Ministry will review the year’s achievements in Youth Development, and a representative from the Saint Lucia National Youth Council will deliver the Opening Remarks.
The proceedings will be broadcast LIVE on the Government Information Service via the National Television Network. The evening will feature entertainment from various talented young performers involved in the arts, showcasing and promoting local talent as prioritized by the Ministry.
Key categories for Youth Awards include:
– National Youth of the Year
– Youth Volunteer/Community Service
– Academic Achievement or Scholastic Excellence
– Leadership and Civic Engagement
– Sports Achievement or Athletes
– Arts, Culture, and Creative Expression
– Science, Technology, Engineering, and Innovation
– Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment
– Environment and Sustainability
Additionally, the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports successfully hosted the District Youth Awards on October 13, aligning with Saint Lucia’s observance of International Youth Day on August 12.
Recognition was also given to the remarkable achievements of young people, particularly in the South Castries districts.
