The Royal St. Lucia Police Force {RSLPF} has extradited yet another individual as part of a newly rejuvenated law enforcement relationship with the neighbouring island of Martinique.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, officers of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force facilitated the extradition of fifty-two-year-old Simone Sitolence, also known as “Buju,” to Martinique. Sitolence was formally handed over to French officials in a joint operation carried out in line with all required legal and procedural safeguards.

In 2019, a French court indicted Sitolence on eight charges, including unauthorized importation, transport, acquisition, detention, and sale of narcotics, participation in a criminal conspiracy for the preparation of a crime, detention of goods dangerous to public health and the transport of goods dangerous to public health. In 2022, he was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. Although he appealed, he repeatedly failed to appear for hearings, leading the court in 2024 to declare a forfeiture of his right to appeal. An international provisional arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and he was apprehended on October 1, 2025, during a police operation at George Charles Boulevard, Marchand. The RSLPF says, throughout the extradition process, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force ensured that his safety and well-being were protected up to the point of transfer.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force reiterated its committment to ensuring that persons wanted in connection with criminal matters are made to answer before the appropriate judicial authorities.
