Construction of the Roseau Food Court and Souvenir Market Phase I has reached a significant milestone, with the project now at 55% completion, the Project Management Unit of the Millennium Highway and West Coast Road Reconstruction Project (MHWCRRP) announced this week.
The facility, which will accommodate 27 vendors across five vendor booth platforms, has seen substantial progress in recent months. Three covered gazebo structures, each with five vending booths are now standing with roofing frameworks in place, and construction of the washroom facility is well underway.
The market will feature dedicated vendor spaces under attractive gazebo-style roofing, complete with electrical and plumbing connections to support food court operations. Modern washroom facilities, pathways connecting the vendor areas, and proper water storage systems are being integrated into the design. The site has been secured with permanent perimeter fencing that will serve both construction safety needs and long-term facility security.
“The project has transitioned from early groundwork to substantial physical form,” said Amos Hippolyte, MHWCRRP Project Manager. “Site infrastructure including septic systems, water tanks, and connecting pathways are taking shape, and we’re moving into the finishing phases.”

The Roseau Food Court and Souvenir Market project showcases Saint Lucian technical capacity and construction expertise. Saint Lucian contractor CEO Company Inc. is executing the works, while supervision is being provided by Saint Lucian consulting engineer Kofi Dovor.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the project team has successfully completed all foundational works to stringent durability standards, while a strategic decision to install permanent fencing early in the construction phase has provided both site security and long-term value.
The facility is projected for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2026. The project represents a strategic investment in Roseau’s commercial infrastructure, providing vendors with professional operating spaces that meet modern health and safety standards. Once operational, the food court and souvenir market will create a centralized hub for local cuisine and artisan crafts in the heart of the community.
