Message to Opposition Forces: Move Aside

.

On Wednesday evening, Kenson “Bay Bay” Casimir made a bold and a heartfelt appeal to the people of the Gros Islet constituency, urging them to re-elect him as their parliamentary representative.

This dynamic young MP, with a steadfast commitment to sports, youth development, and sustainable community relations, expressed deep gratitude to his family, friends, neighbours, and all those from Marie Therese Street and beyond who played a pivotal role in shaping his journey.

Casimir showcased his substantial achievements, highlighting infrastructural projects such as the brand new Northern Division Police Headquarters, critical upgrades and expansion of the soon-to-be-renamed Gros Islet Polyclinic, significant enhancements to the Gros Islet beach front and jetty facility, and numerous road rehabilitation efforts throughout the constituency. He called on residents to decisively cast their votes for the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), emphasizing the party’s commitment to restoring justice, pride, and dignity, while charting a path towards progress and productivity.

With chants of “Bay Bay, Bay Bay” resounding from the crowd, Casimir declared: “It’s the unwavering support of the people that will drive us to make history in Gros Islet once again. This isn’t about showmanship; it’s about tangible results and performance over the last four years and four months.”

Prime Minister and SLP Political Leader Philip J Pierre ended his campaign tour, on the night, to endorse Casimir, affirming him as a dedicated MP deserving of a second term. He stated, “One good term deserves another…”

PM Pierre condemned the smear tactics and falsehoods surfacing from the opposition United Workers Party (UWP) and its associates. He highlighted the transformative impact of the government’s projects, specifically the Northern Division Police Headquarters and the Gros Islet Polyclinic, among other key successes.

Earlier speakers engaged the crowd with pointed critiques of the opposition’s shortcomings and misconceptions.

Intriguingly, there is a growing trend of former UWP members realigning with the SLP. Dr. Claudius Preville urged voters to make a serious decision on Monday, December 1st, stressing the necessity of civic engagement; Lorne Theophilius called out the opposing candidate, attacking the UWP’s political rhetoric and questionable tactics.

Andy Daniel, the former Speaker of the House and UWP veteran, did not hold back, and was in a fiery mode denouncing the UWP administration for its inability to address the current challenges facing national development. His impactful rhetoric energized the crowd as he prompted voters, “When the roll is called up yonder…will you be there?” encouraging them to exercise their democratic right on Election Day.

MP for Castries North, Stephenson King, added a touch of nostalgia to the gathering as he reflected on his own early political years. In endorsing Casimir, he recognized him as one of the hardest-working parliamentarians, dedicated and passionate about the cause, with a proven record of achievements and projects that truly benefit Gros Islet.
