The victim, Paul Campsell of Pierrot, Vieux Fort, was declared dead following an incident that occurred on Friday, November 21.
Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Vieux Fort Police Station responded to the scene where they found him unconscious on the ground.
Initial investigations revealed that personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service attended to Campsell before he was transported to St. Jude Hospital via ambulance.
Despite efforts to save him, a medical practitioner pronounced him dead shortly after arrival. One individual is currently in custody and is actively assisting with the investigation.
Anyone with information regarding this incident has been urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at the Vieux Fort Police Station at 456-3906. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 555 (the Crime Hotline) or using the RSLPF Crime Hotline Application available on the Google Play Store.
Meanwhile, The Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has made serious headway in the ongoing fight against the importation of illicit drugs and firearms. The RSLPF has informed of major updates arising from the interdiction investigations at Port Castries.
As a result of the ongoing multi-agency investigations including the Customs and Excise Department, two more individuals have been arrested.
On Wednesday November 19, 2025 Irvin Faucher, an Operations Clerk at Saint Lucia Air and Seaports Authority (SLASPA) and Cyril Joseph, a Red Cap employed at Saint Lucia Air and Seaports Authority (SLASPA) have been formally charged with the following.
1) Five (5) counts of Fraudulent Evasion of Customs Duties, contrary to Section 113 of Customs (Control and Management) Act, Cap. 15.05
2) Five (5) counts of Importing Prohibited or Restricted Goods without Authorization, contrary to Section 117 of the same Act.
On Friday November 21, 2025 Irvin Faucher and Cyril Joseph were escorted to the First District Court for bail purposes. They were both granted bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) cash or suitable surety.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force {RSLPF} says it remains committed to aggressively pursuing individuals and criminal networks involved in drug trafficking activities that threaten the safety and security of our nation.
