The highlight of this celebration will be the show entitled Mizik, scheduled for November 29.
As part of Mizik, the CDF is hosting a critical training component. “A key element of every musical show is the Emcee, and the emcee can make or break an event,” emphasizes Tracy Dolcy, Director for Training, Promotion, and Development at the CDF.
To this end, the CDF has engaged veteran MC Gilroy “Ezi” Hall and communications specialist Barbara Jacob-Small to share their expertise with established emcees and enthusiasts in the field.

THe CDF official articulated the significance of the workshop and its alignment with CDF’s mission. “The goal is that participants will acquire essential skills in negotiating contracts, preparing for performances, and evaluating their work,” Dolcy stated.
The CDF spokesperson anticipates that this workshop will empower many individuals to confidently pursue emceeing as a viable livelihood.
Participants engaged in key principles of emceeing through interactive exercises and structured instruction.

Hall, the primary workshop facilitator, praised the CDF for taking this initiative, noting that it has long been in demand. He commended the participants for their “energy and passion,” highlighting their remarkable willingness to participate and perform.
The workshop focused on the Fundamentals of Emceeing, attracting 28 dedicated participants to the initial session.
Topics covered included the role and responsibilities of an emcee, the importance of preparation, and techniques for impromptu speaking.
The workshop will continue on Saturday, November 15, as Hall and Jacob-Small delve into advanced areas of professional emceeing. The series will conclude with a brief ceremony where Certificates of Participation will be awarded to those who complete both sessions.
