Saint Lucian reggae sensation and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Taj Weekes has been rightfully honored by the Marchand School for his outstanding philanthropic work and significant humanitarian contributions to the welfare of people, particularly the underprivileged in the community.

Hailing from the Marchand community in the Castries East constituency, Taj consistently reaches out to individuals in need, providing essential donations of school supplies, football gear, sporting equipment, and medical services that genuinely improve lives.

In a recent online post, Taj Weekes stated: “I am at the Marchand School in Castries, St. Lucia, surrounded by bright faces, hope embodied in small hands. Today, as I’m honored for humanitarian work, it is not about me. It’s about them—the children who deserve more than speeches, more than praise. It is about the promise we give them every single day.”

He emphasized, “What we do for these children is not charity; it is justice. We don’t assist because they are fewer; we help because they are equal. Every child here holds universes inside them already: dreams of being wherever and whatever.

“Our role is clear: we do not script those dreams but clear the paths so they may run freely toward them.”
