Saint Lucia Kings are rejuvenating their squad with formidable players and a strong focus on integrating ‘young blood’ as they gear up for the highly anticipated 2025 CPL season.

As the defending Caribbean Premier League champions, the Kings have made a bold move by securing IPL champion Tim David as their top draft pick. His return to the team signifies a strategic shift for the franchise, especially in the absence of former skipper Faf du Plessis this season.

The emphasis now is on creating a fresh core that effectively combines international prowess with the rich talent of Saint Lucian players. Among the promising talent is 21-year-old Ackeem Auguste, a key player who not only played a crucial role in securing the CPL title last season but has also honed his skills at the Chennai Super Kings academy in India, demonstrating outstanding performances for the West Indies Academy.

The Kings are committed to nurturing more local talent, retaining Shadrack Descarte and solidifying their homegrown backbone with rising stars like Keon Gaston, alongside marquee internationals including Alzarri Joseph, Roston Chase, and Tabraiz Shamsi.

A critical component of their campaign will be the consistent performance of the CPL’s leading run-scorer, Johnson Charles, who has amassed an impressive 2,855 runs, closely followed by Andre Fletcher with 2,842 runs.
