The Saint Lucia National Cricket Association (SLNCA) is celebrating a major achievement in youth cricket development, as five Saint Lucian players have been selected to represent the Windward Islands Under-19 team at the 2025 Cricket West Indies Rising Stars Championship. The tournament will be held in Saint Kitts and Nevis from June 30 to July 25.

SLNCA President Wayne Auguste, who also serves as Vice President of the Windward Islands Cricket Board, expressed his pride and congratulations to the young cricketers.
“This team is brimming with talent and ambition, and I have every confidence they will represent the sub-region with pride. Their efforts to stand out in front of regional selectors should be applauded,” he said.

The selected players from Saint Lucia are Theo Edward, Johnathan Daniel, Cody Fontenelle, Isaiah Jones, and Darvin Forde. According to Auguste, their selection is a testament to their hard work and the strength of the island’s coaching systems.

The team will be captained by former West Indies U-19 skipper Stephan Pascal, who brings valuable leadership and experience to the squad. Coaching duties will be led by John Eugene, a seasoned Level 3 coach with Cricket West Indies. Eugene has previously coached the Saint Lucia National High-Performance Centre, the Windward Islands Volcanoes, and served on the coaching staff of the Punjab Kings during the 2024 IPL season.

This selection highlights the continuing rise of Saint Lucia’s cricket talent and reaffirms the island’s growing presence on the regional cricket stage.
