SLFA Club Competitions in Full Swing

Matches resumed in the SLFA Inc. Senior Men’s Club competition on Saturday, 8th March, with an exciting double-header at the Soufriere Mini Stadium.

In the first match, Young Stars and Black Panthers battled to a goalless draw.

Bays FC secured a narrow victory over Faith United with a score of 1 – 0, thanks to Antoine Wilfred’s goal in the 37th minute.

At the Corinth Playing Field, Chesters triumphed over Monchy United with a score of 2 – 1, fueled by goals from Linburg Ferdinand and Delchan Deterville in the 34th and 42nd minutes, respectively.

Monchy responded with a goal by Troy Greenidge in the 60th minute.

In another thrilling encounter, Northern United and GMC United ended in a 1 – 1 draw. Dominic Codd put GMC on the board in the 59th minute, but Lyndon Constantine equalized for Northern United in the 78th minute.

On Sunday, 9th March, Platinum FC faced off against Victory Eagles, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Shayan Lionel opened the scoring for Platinum in the 29th minute, but Shawn Alfred equalized in the 61st minute.

Meanwhile, the SLFA Inc. Boys Under 12 District League Primary Schools Football Competition continued at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere Dennery.

In the first match of a triple-header on Saturday, 8th March, the unbeaten Mabouya Valley was held to a goalless draw by Central Castries.

Dennery clinched a victory over Gros Islet with a goal from Roshawn Henry in the 46th minute, winning the match 1 – 0.

In the day’s final game, Roseau Valley and Mon Repos played to a dramatic 1 – 1 draw. Israel Evans scored for Roseau Valley in the 24th minute, but Mon Repos equalized in added time, thanks to Nyhim Freviere.

The action ramped up on Sunday, 9th March, with Canaries dominating Anse La Raye, winning 5 – 0 after leading 3 – 0 at halftime. The goal scorers for Canaries included Caison Clement in the 6th and 53rd minutes, Ken Alexander in the 11th and 32nd minutes, and Ken Deterville in the 7th minute.

Vieux Fort South also secured a hard-fought victory against Desruisseaux, edging them out 1 – 0 with a goal from Trevan Halls in the 2nd minute.
