The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has stepped up its efforts to combat the recent increase in gun crime in the Marc neighbourhood. In response to escalating citizen concerns and complaints of illicit firearms, the RSLPF has expanded police presence and operational activity in the community.
Officers from the Special Operations Team launched a search operation in a thickly forested area of Marc, Bexon, around 5:00 PM on Thursday. This operation resulted in the recovery of a Glock 9×19 pistol with its serial number removed, as well as a magazine holding 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The firearm had an auto sear, which allowed it to fire automatically.
This recovery represents an important milestone in the RSLPF’s efforts to prevent gun violence and restore peace in affected communities. The possession of such a weapon constituted a major threat to public safety, and its disposal demonstrates law enforcement’s continuous dedication to keeping residents safe.
The RSLPF encourages all members of the Marc community to help with the ongoing investigation by giving any information that may lead to the recovery of further illicit firearms or the identification of persons involved in criminal activity. All reports will be treated with complete secrecy.
The RSLPF says it remains committed to making Saint Lucia a safer place for everyone, and appreciates the public’s continuing support in this endeavour.
