Celebrating 140 Years

The Voice Publishing Co. Ltd
.

This weekend, THE VOICE Newspaper is celebrating 140 years of existence, a milestone steeped in historic moments, as it has had a physical presence by recording some of the astonishing developments that have shaped our country, like the fires that destroyed the City of Castries and the raising of Saint Lucia flag for the first time, which signalled an independent country able to stand on its own with no foreign overseers, which it once had.

There have been many, many more history-making moments chronicled in its pages over the years, but one guiding principle it stands firm on, among many others, is that it has no interest in class or cliques, nor does it advocate any particular set of opinions, but allows every man and woman in Saint Lucia to have their say in public matters generally, and factually inform its readers, at home and abroad, on matters that occur in the country, the region and the world.

Look out for our 140th celebratory issue on March 30th which will feature a special supplement documenting some of the special moments, which shaped the country and the people who stood tall in transforming the newspaper from its birth in January 1885 to  January 2025.
