TWO suspects have been detained by police in relation to the death of 35-year-old Danjuma Paul Butcher, who lived on the Millennium Highway in Castries.
Police officers from the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a stabbing report at Millennium Highway in Castries on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at around 6:00 p.m.
According to reports, Butcher was attacked by two men who allegedly stabbed him and caused other injuries at around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Millennium Highway neighborhood. Later, in the OKEU Hospital, he passed away from his wounds.
According to reports, the accused were close friends and relatives of the victim.
People in the community mourn this most recent murder while calling for greater togetherness and more effective means of resolving disputes between peers. “These things don’t happen if we had love for each other,” said one local.
The resident went on to say that friends are meant to support one another and that young adults should look for more responsible ways “to solve your problems.”
Young people are being urged by the local resident and owner of a small shop in the area, that the guys frequently visit to find more peaceful ways to settle conflicts or to walk away from trouble.
