Two brothers, Dunstan and Don Cherubin of Morne Fortune, said to be in their twenties, were arrested by police in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old.
It was on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at about 6:00 p.m. that Police Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to a report of a stabbing in an area near the Millennium Highway in Castries.
“This homicide claimed the life of thirty-five-year-old Danjuma Paul Butcher, a resident of Millennium Highway, Castries,” a police report stated.
According to police, it was during the investigation that the brothers were arrested in connection with the death of Danjuma Paul Butcher and as a result of the investigation, the following charges were brought against them:
• Dunstan Cherubin: Charged with Aiding and Abetting under Section 62(b) of the Criminal Code of Saint Lucia, 2024.
• Don Cherubin: Charged with Murder under Section 85B of the Criminal Code of Saint Lucia, 2024.
The brothers were escorted to the First District Court, where they applied for bail. After their applications, they were remanded into custody at the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
