Diamonds International and the Rotary Club of Gros Islet proudly announce the successful completion of their 2nd Annual School Supplies and Backpack Collaboration. This initiative, held ahead of the current academic year, aimed to support parents and ensure that children start the school term on an equal footing.
The collaboration saw the generous donation of over 100 backpacks and school supplies from Diamonds International, with an additional 15 backpacks contributed by Rotarians. These donations were distributed as follows: 70 backpacks were handed over to the Ministry of Education, and the remaining 45 were allocated to the Grow Well Programme which is an afterschool initiative in Gros Islet that focuses on serving underserved children and was originally established by the Rotary Club of Gros Islet some 25 years ago.
This project underscores the commitment of both Diamonds International and the Rotary Club of Gros Islet to community development and educational support. By providing essential school supplies, the collaboration aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents and create a more equitable start to the school year for all students.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Rotary Club of Gros Islet for the second year in a row. Our goal is to make a tangible difference in the lives of these children and their families,” said Niv Ramon, General Manager at Diamonds International.
“The Rotary Club of Gros Islet is dedicated to supporting our community, and this collaboration with Diamonds International allows us to extend our reach and impact. We are grateful for their continued support,” said Astrid Mondesir, President of the Rotary Club of Gros Islet.
