A 23–year–old is the island’s latest road fatality.
Jeannakim Tibrune of Leslie Land, Castries sustained serious injuries in a vehicular collision which occurred today at about 12:30 a.m., at La Caye, Dennery.
A press release from the police public relations department stated that it was the Richfond Police Station which received a report of the fatal vehicular collision, and that initial investigations indicated that a truck veered off road whilst traveling southbound, with seven passengers. The driver and five other individuals sustained injuries which were not life-threatening.
According to the press release it was the Saint Lucia Fire Service personnel who attended to the victims and conveyed Tibrune to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital where he passed away.
His death was confirmed by a medical practitioner at the institution.
