SP Survivors Celebrate 30th Anniversary (1993 – 2023)

On Sunday (November, 26) Speed Printing (SP) Survivors observed its 30th Anniversary celebrations with a church service at the Lady of Fatima Parish, La Clery which was followed by a Recognition and Awards Ceremony at the Daren Sammy Cricket Grounds.

According to a spokesperson, preceding the latest celebratory activity was a cake sale in October and a Fun Walk in November which were both successful events.

In attendance to celebrate this milestone achievement, were Ag. Director of Sports, Clivus Jules, President Brendaline  Descartes and First Vice President of the St. Lucia Athletics Association in   Dora Henry along with the former Director of Sports Patrick Mathurin, athletes, coaches, parents and some of the past and  founding members of the club.

The athletes from the diaspora sent their celebratory messages of congratulations and encouragement to the Club.

The Awards Ceremony recognized and awarded athletes from the Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Tertiary level in the various categories as follows:

National Representation, Most Disciplined, Most Improved, and Most outstanding.

The Most Outstanding athletes were as follows:

Primary School (Female) – Denisha Florent

Primary School (Male) – Daniel Marquis

Secondary School (Female) – Dhezi Bousquet

Secondary School (Male) – Kadeem Larcher

Tertiary Level (Female) – Kristal Desir

Tertiary Level (Male) – Cagini Pilgrim

Coach Cuthbert “Trois Ti Nez” Modeste was recognized and awarded for his sterling service and dedication towards the development and coaching of athletes past and present. Coaches Sigmund Daniels and Christopher “Zol” Duncan were also recognized for their dedicated service to the club over the past few years, assisting with coaching the youth and juveniles.

Vincent Doxerie, founding sponsor and manager / owner of Speed Printing was unavoidably absent, but nonetheless, was also recognized for his immense contribution to the club.

The Club acknowledged the difficulty with financial support and acknowledges the input from the following entities for their service, meaningful contributions and sponsorship towards the success of the various events in celebration of this milestone:
