SOUFRIERE Comprehensive Secondary School (SCSS) emerged winners of this year’s Secondary Schools Football Under-15 tournament as they outdid Micoud Secondary School (MSS), in the finals, played at the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery, on Monday. 

The Under-15 tournament is an event organized by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports in collaboration with the SLFA.

In the final, on Monday, the two teams were locked 0-0 at regulation time. However, Soufriere went ahead, 3-0, in the  penalty shootout to claim victory.

Meanwhile, in the third-place playoffs, a penalty shootout was needed to determine the winner between the Saint Lucia Sports Academy (SLSA) and St. Mary’s College (SMC) for the silverware.

SLSA won 6-5 from the penalty spot after the match ended in a goalless draw.

At the post-match awards, the following individuals were recognized:

– Best Defender, Tafari Peter (SMC),

– Best Goalkeeper, Kanil Nelson (SMC),

– MVP of the final, Curdin Jones (SCSS),

– MVP of the tournament, Ranel Jn Baptiste (SCSS, 18 goals).

– 2nd Place trophy and silver medal, Micoud Secondary School,

– Championship trophy and gold medal, Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School.
