THE technical committee of the Saint Lucia Aquatic Federation (SLAF) selected a 33-member squad and four reserves to represent Saint Lucia at the 31st edition of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Swim Championship, slated to take place from November 10 -12, at the Rodney Height Aquatic Centre (RHAC).
The three-day championship will be conducted in accordance with World Aquatics rules. Swimmers will compete in the age groups : 8 and Under through to 18 and Over categories.
Leading Saint Lucia’s charge in the Boys and Girls 8 and Under are, Tiago Nelson, Miles Andrew (Boys), Thandie Antoine, and Raphael (Girls).
The 9 -10 category will be represented by Nathan Lewis, Tre Theresine, Dexter Andrew (Boys), Sapphire Parks, Aniyah George, Jamie Devaux, and Maya Andrew (Girls).
Noah Dorville, Jayden Xu, Aaron Charles (Boys), Zaina Brathwaite, Amara Reese, and Kayla-Marise- Inglis (Girls) will take control of the 11 -12 age category.
The 13 – 14 age group will be represented by Eric Xu, Leo Gilmor, D’Andre Vigier (Boys), Fayth Jeffrey, Fayth Luburn, and Damari Maxwell (Girls).
The 15-17 category will be led by Karic Charles, Ethan Hazell, Shemar James (Boys), Naekeisha Louis, Courtney Paul, and Caitlan Polius (Girls).
The 18 and Over lineup includes the reigning senior sportsman of the year Jayhan Odlum-Smith; and Jayhan will have Jonathan Calderon, Shaquille Flavius (Boys), and 2020 Tokyo Olympian and reigning junior Sportswoman for the Year Mikaili Charlemagne in the team.
The reserves are; Jonah Dormer (Boys), Alexandra Bristol, Emma Fortune and Maliyah Henry (Girls).
The participating countries are Antigua and Barbuda (defending champions), Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Martinique, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sint Martin, and hosts Saint Lucia.
