On Monday, October 16, 2023 at about 11:25 a.m., officers attached to the Dennery Police Station received and responded to a report of a shooting on the grounds of the Fish Fiesta along High Street, Dennery.
Upon arrival at the scene, the officers saw a male individual lying in a prone position with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his lower abdomen, left side of his chest and his left upper thigh area. A number of spent shells were recovered on the scene.
Emergency Medical Technicians from the Saint Lucia Fire Service also responded to the report. The victim was transported to a medical facility via ambulance where he is reported to be presently in a stable condition. He has been identified as Pius Laurent also known as Roberson, a sixty-two – year old resident of High Street, Dennery.
Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
