Two murders in a span of hours committed on Sunday

Law enforcement officers are once again grappling with gun violence which claimed the lives of four young men over the past weekend.

On Sunday, reports stated that two separate homicide incidents were committed within the span of hours, in two different communities.

Police reports state that last Saturday (July 7) about 10:20 p.m., officers visited the scene of a crime at Babonneau where they found the unresponsive body of Terille “Messi” Laurent, 28, of Hill 20, Babonneau. Laurent was later pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.

Reports indicate that the body of Laurent, a young budding deejay, was discovered under a tree near the Babonneau Secondary School and the Babonneau Fire Station.

Police reported that the next day, around 7:00 a.m., another body was found behind the Morne Du Don Primary School, in Castries. The victim, a resident of the area, is believed to have been stabbed multiple times in his upper body. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Reports state that, on Sunday, about 9:00 p.m. officers visited the Morne Du Don, Castries area where a stabbing incident had occurred. The officers found the body of a male identified as Scott Chester Louison, 20, of Morne Du Don with apparent stab wounds to the body. He was transported to the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEUH) and was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

Reports confirm that currently police investigators have a male suspect in custody relating to this incident.

Homicide at Fisheries Complex, Anse La Raye

Police reported that on Sunday, two men were shot dead in the Anse La Raye community.  Reports state that about 8:40 p.m., a team of officers went to the scene of a shooting incident at the Anse La Raye Fisheries complex, where they found two victims with apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies.

The victims were later identified as Ernil Emil Emmanuel a 29-year-old male of Anse La Raye, and Ronnie Edwin aka “Rico’ of Arundel Hill, Castries.

The two were pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.

Reports indicate that the men are believed to have been the victims of a drive-by shooting, which occurred that evening.

Residents reported that the bodies of the men were on the ground next to each other on Front Street by the bay.
