A thirty-nine-year old Vincentian national was arrested and charged for Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Ammunition after police conducted an operation at the Vieux Fort Sea Port on Christmas Eve, a police report revealed today.
According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), during the operation, officers attached to the Special Services Unit, South, and the Police Marine Unit recovered a 9mm pistol and twelve rounds of ammunition. One male, namely, Jeffery Alexander, was arrested and charged.
The operation was conducted around 8:25 p.m.
Alexander was escorted before the Second District Court. He was remanded in custody and will make his next court appearance on January 12, 2023.
Meanwhile, around 12:00 a.m. on Saturday (Christmas Eve), officers attached to the Special Patrol Group in Gros Islet were conducting patrols in the Ti Chimen, Babonneau area.
Officers recovered a 9mm pistol and four rounds of 9mm ammunition on twenty-nine-year old resident of Ti Chimen, Sherlanski Eleuther.
According to the RSLPF, “the officers had cause to search Eleuther.”
The Ti Chimen resident was arrested and charged for unlawful Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.
Elethere was escorted to the First District Court where he was granted bail for the offenses of Possession of Firearm and Ammunition on Wednesday, December 27.
Bail Conditions are as follows:
Possession of Firearm: $10,000.00 cash suitable surety or land documents
Possession of Ammunition: $5000.00 cash suitable surety or land documents
Not to leave the state without the permission of the court
Reporting conditions and travel restrictions were also added to his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned to the February 10, 2023.
