PRESS RELEASE — The Office of the Parliament of Saint Lucia, has been advised of the passing of former House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Baden Allain, who served as a Presiding Officer from April 2002 to January 2007. He was also the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Soufriere/Fond St Jacques between 1987 and 1992.
We are most thankful for Speaker Allain’s service and as a mark of respect and appreciation for this service, House Speaker, Hon. Claudius J. Francis, has instructed that the flag at the Parliament Building be flown at half-staff over the coming days.
