Dr. Tanya Destang Beaubrun, a Family Physician specializing in Functional and Integrative Medicine was recently a guest on Oprah’s The Life You Want™ Class, hosted on the Oprah Daily platform on September 13, 2022, by no other than the iconic Oprah Winfrey herself!
OprahDaily.com, formerly known as O, The Oprah Magazine, is Oprah’s latest offering, with digital storytelling, a quarterly print edition, and a special membership-only community.
During these monthly classes, she and special guests exchange ideas about the defining principles explored in her “The Life You Want” Planner. She answers questions from a select group of her Oprah Daily Insiders chosen to participate in the conversation, through eye-opening discussions.
As an avid follower of Ms. Winfrey, Dr. Beaubrun was thrilled to be chosen as one of the guests on the show which discussed the wide-reaching positive impact that comes with prioritizing service. The show featured special guests including CNN host Van Jones and Rebecca Welsh of Halo, who talked about how to be of service to others and the importance of taking that first step, however small, can lead to fulfilling outcomes in the future.
During the class, Dr. Beaubrun spoke with Oprah and Van Jones about her service project, Caribbean Spark, a wellness docuseries that will focus on improving the health and well-being of our Caribbean people.
As the first Saint Lucian to be chosen to be in the Class, Dr. Beaubrun describes this as a dream come true and the opportunity of a lifetime. She went on to explain that this experience taught her several life lessons, the most significant being, “that we must continue working towards our goals, always trusting that God often has bigger plans for us than we can dream of.”
Many St. Lucians and friends from across the region tuned in to watch as this historic occasion unfolded, and for that, she was quick to express not only the pride she felt in representing St. Lucia and the Caribbean on such an international stage but also her gratitude at being selected for this once in a lifetime mastery event.
Dr. Beaubrun is the founder of the Rodney Bay Medical and Diagnostic Centers, from where she operates Satya Integrative Medical, the Caribbean’s first Functional and Integrative Medical Clinic.
