SLFA Div. I Contest Heats Up

As the momentum increases in this season’s SLFA Div. I League competition – the goals continue to pour in rapidly. There was a goal feast at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds [PMG], on Tuesday, with some winning teams on a rampage.

Togetherness Youth defeated Flow Lancers 6-5, to stem the flow of their city sub-urban rivals. Maius Stanislaus netted a hat trick for Togetherness Youth with goals in the 48th, 55th and 70th minutes, Zacky Harper scoring a brace with12th and 49th minutes goals and Shervius Oculi with a penalty in the 31st min.

Albertini Philip got a brace for Lancers with goals in the 19th and 39th minutes, Dante Fitz 30th, Niale Alexander 42nd and Andres Daniel 78th minutes, respectively.

Also at the PMG, Victory Eagles made light work of VSADC 4 – 0, with goals from Shawn Alfred 32nd and 49th minutes, Darrel Francis 8th and Bobby Emmanuel 85th minutes.

At the Desruisseaux Playing Field, the race for the championship continues with much intrigue as B1 FC and Monchy United played to a pulsating 3 – all draw. B1 led 3-1 at the interval, with Travis Joseph, Pernal Williams and Jordan St. Ange scoring in the 4th, 9th and 22nd minutes, respectively while Monchy got their goals from Jahlil Evans with a 33rd. min penalty , Aramis Gilbert 55th and Troy Greenidge 88th minutes.

Meanwhile, Black Panthers and Faith United will clash in the finals of the Soufriere Football League Promotional Tournament today (Saturday), at the Soufriere Mini Stadium.

In last Sunday’s the semifinals, Black Panthers with goals from Inanco Sylvester 11th and Kester Jean 35th minute defeated Challengers 2 – 1, whose goal was scored by Bradley Tisson in the 68th minute.

Faith United edged out Rising Stars 1-nil to qualify as the other finalists, with a goal scored by Markey Perry in the 77th minute.
