The death of a young woman is now being investigated by police after she was killed in a shooting incident on Sunday morning.
According to reports, 26-year-old Fayeshatelle Rameau and three others were travelling in a vehicle when assailants fired at them. Rameau, a former Pavee resident, succumbed to her injuries that same morning. Two other individuals were injured in the incident, however, the driver reportedly came out unscathed.
The incident took place at Morne Fortune around 5:00 a.m., however, details surrounding the incident are still sketchy.
Rameau’s death sparked debate on social media, however, friends of the deceased have defended her and are urging persons to refrain from tarnishing her reputation.
Police are also investigating the death of an unidentified male who was discovered along the shoreline of Laborie beach early Sunday morning. The deceased, who was disfigured, was reportedly discovered with a gunshot wound.
The island recorded another fatality yesterday. It has since been revealed that a woman was pronounced dead after a vehicle she was in plunged into the sea at Tapion, Castries.
Marine Police Commander Kentry Frederick told St Lucia Times that shortly before 10.00 a.m., the unit received a call that a vehicle had entered the sea near the forensic laboratory.
