SLBS Welcomes the Establishment of CQI Caribbean Branch

The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards welcomes the establishment of the Caribbean Branch of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), a United Kingdom based professional body, for experts in improving product, project and service quality.

The Institute has been in existence since 1919 with 100 years promoting organizational excellence by setting professional standards for quality management in the UK and globally.

The launching of CQI-Caribbean Branch is opportune as Saint Lucia is on the verge of unveiling its National Quality Policy (NQP) which will inform and guide the effective use of quality infrastructure to facilitate trade and economic opportunities.

The CQI Caribbean Branch will host its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, 10th February 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  The virtual event will target quality professionals from the public and private sector, desirous of achieving operational excellence in business processes.  The link to the inaugural event is available on the SLBS website and social media platforms.

Dr. Alison Gajadhar, Managing Director of KMA Consulting Ltd and former Director of the SLBS was instrumental in setting the CQI-Caribbean Branch, with the support of Quality professionals from Trinidad and Jamaica. In recognition of this milestone achievement, she was awarded the 2021 Unsung Heroes Award by CQI, for her contribution in establishing the Caribbean Branch and working to advance quality culture across the Caribbean.  The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards congratulates Dr. Gajadhar and the team of CQI Caribbean Branch, as we look forward to the sustained efforts in enhancing a quality culture.
