Saint Lucia recorded its fifteenth road fatality for the year on Sunday, December 13, following an accident at TiChimen, Babonneau.
According to reports, a cyclist, 16-year-old Roshon Sealy and a moving minibus collided around 5:30 p.m. Sealy was transported to the Owen King EU Hospital (OKEU) for treatment, however, he succumbed to his injuries at 6:30 p.m. Police are investigating the incident.
The accident has sent shockwaves in the small community of Fond Assau where Sealy is well-known. National Day ended on a sad note for his loved ones and members of the community who are still trying to come to terms with his death. A number of individuals have since expressed their sadness.
