On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation of 17 new cases of COVID-19 from the Ezra Long Laboratory. This was from a batch of 159 samples taken during the period May 2, 2021 to May 4, 2021. The samples were processed on May 4, 2021.
Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 9 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 bringing the total number of active cases in the country to date to 107. Presently, all of the active cases are doing well. The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 4602.
The Ministry of Health also reported one COVID-19 related death bringing the total number of deaths in the country to date to 75. The latest death is a 69-year-old male from the Castries district with underlying medical illnesses.
