Gun violence continues to plague the south of the island.
On Saturday, May 15, 2021, one man suffered what appeared to be life-threatening wounds about his body in Vieux Fort.
According to residents, multiple gunshots were heard in the community “and when things calmed down, Mavado was on the ground bleeding.”
The individual was fired upon multiple times and layed motionless on the ground as curious onlookers converged on the scene.
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, officers from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force seized multiple weapons including a high-powered assault rifle at a residence on Martin Luther King Street in Vieux Fort.
