Saint Lucia Records 155 New Cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Wellness late Monday March 1, 2021 received confirmation of 155 new cases of COVID-19 from the Ezra Long Laboratory. The test results are from a batch of 377 samples processed on February 27, 2021. The samples processed were taken during the period February 13 to February 27, 2021.

These individuals were assessed and tested for COVID-19 at various community respiratory clinics. In keeping with the COVID-19 testing protocol, they were each placed in home quarantine by health practitioners while awaiting the return of their test results. The Ministry of Health has made arrangements to place these individuals into isolation. The contact tracing for these new cases of COVID-19 is underway. The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 3545.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 25 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 bringing the total number of active cases in country to date to 464. At present, three of the active cases are requiring critical care at the Respiratory Hospital.
