Saint Lucia Records 32 new cases of COVID-19

On Sunday February 14, 2021, the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation from the Ezra Long Laboratory of 32 new cases of COVID-19 from a batch of 200 tests conducted.

The tests were done on samples taken during the period February 1 to February 12, 2021.

The individuals were seen within various community respiratory clinics where they were assessed and tested for COVID-19 and as per the national COVID-19 testing protocol placed in quarantine by health care practitioners while awaiting their COVID-19 test results.

Arrangements have since been made to place them into isolation and the contact tracing team has begun investigations to identify the contacts of these newly confirmed cases.

Confirmation was also received today of the recovery of 124 individuals bringing the total number of active cases currently in country to date to 718. Two of the active cases are in critical care at the Respiratory Hospital and all of the others are presently stable.

The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 2519.
