Saint Lucia Records 17 recoveries and 3 new cases of COVID-19

Yesterday, Friday, December 4, 2020, the Ministry of Health received a batch of 124 test results, all of which were negative. Today Saturday, December 5, 2020, the Ministry of Health received a batch of 141 more test results. Of these, 138 were negative and three were positive. This brings the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 265.

Case #263 is a 26-year-old female from the Castries district, case #264 is a 31-year-old female from the Vieux-Fort district and case #265 is an 82-year-old female from the Castries district.

These individuals were seen at a community respiratory facility where they were assessed and tested for COVID-19. They were all placed in quarantine by the health practitioners while awaiting the return of their test results. Epidemiological link has been established for case #265. Investigations are on-going by the contact tracing team to determine epidemiological links for the other two cases.

As per protocol, arrangements have been made for the placement of these individuals into isolation.

The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce seventeen COVID-19 recoveries from Thursday, December 5, 2020, to today Saturday, December 5, 2020, bringing the new total number of active cases currently in the country to 105. To date, Saint Lucia has recorded a total of 158 recoveries in the country. At present, all of the active cases are stable and doing well.
