Fourteen of the Sixteen New Cases are Returning Nationals

Today Tuesday December 22, 2020 the Ministry of Health and Wellness received confirmation of sixteen new cases of COVID-19. This is from a total of 162 samples tested. This brings the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 303.

One case is a 31-year-old female non-national who was tested as per national protocol. This individual was placed in quarantine at a COVID-19 certified hotel and has now been transferred into isolation upon receipt of the result.

Fourteen of the sixteen cases are returning national who were within a government quarantine facility.

Case # 288 is a 34 year old female

Case # 290 is a 44 year old male

Case # 291 is a 27 year old male

Case # 292 is a 35 year old male

Case # 294 is a 39 year old male

Case # 295 is a 27 year old male

Case # 296 is a 45 year old female

Case # 297 is a 30 year old male

Case # 298 is a 35 year old male

Case # 299 is a 23 year old male

Case # 300 is a 45 year old male

Case # 301 is a 41-year-old male

Case # 302 is a 47 year old male

Case # 303 is a 22 year old male

They have all been transferred into isolation upon receipt of their positive test results.

One case is a 22-year-old male national from the Gros-Islet who is the contact of a previously diagnosed case. The individual had been tested and placed in quarantine pending the receipt of his test results. Arrangements have been made for his placement in isolation.

Today Saint Lucia also recorded a total of two recoveries bringing the total number of active cases to 35.

All cases are currently in care are stable and none require critical care.
