SIXTEEN Port Police Officers have successfully graduated from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s (RSLPF) Course 37 Program during a graduation ceremony on October 09, 2020, held at the Ferry Terminal Arrival Lounge in Port Castries.
The recruits will officially join a dedicated team of approximately 180 officers within the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority’s (SLASPA) Ports Police department.
According to General Manager at SLASPA, Daren Cenac, “The Authority is a strong, dynamic, multifaceted, globally recognized, national organization. Therefore, we must ensure the safety of our ports, our staff, and the public.”
In keeping with these sentiments Chief of Ports Police, Kennedy Francis reminded graduates of an officer’s oath to serve and protect.
“Dedicate your life to the service. It is no longer I but be prepared to serve SLASPA and by extension your country,” he said.
In attendance at the ceremony were government officials, representatives of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Training
Academy (RSLPF), members of SLASPA’s Port Council and Management team, and other guests. The proceedings included a presentation of certificates, awards to outstanding performers, and tokens of appreciation to Instructors.
The Port Council, Management, and staff of the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority congratulate the officers of Course 37 who have dedicated themselves to protect and safeguard civil aviation and maritime trade against acts of unlawful interference and other criminal activity.
