No Increase in Fees at Sir Arthur

The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College wishes to inform the general public that there has not been an increase in fees as is being reflected in social media posts. The College would also like to reassure the public that the fees for continuing students remain the same.

The fees referenced in the social media posts are specific to the College’s professional programmes that are traditionally offered to mature students as to certification in their field of work, for example, Social Work, Criminal Justice and Paralegal Studies.

Continuing students will be invoiced accordingly and this information will be accessible on the student’s SONIS accounts at the College.

As an update, we would like to let the public know that the College is currently processing responses to applicants for the 2020-2021 academic year. Over six hundred applicants have received acceptance letters to date and we are working steadfastly to respond to the remaining applicants to facilitate enrollment next week. Applicants are encouraged to check their emails.

As is the case worldwide with tertiary education institutions the College has developed a COVID Response Policy for its reopening that is in keeping with the guidelines set out by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education.

A key element of the COVID-19 response is the pivot to online learning or digital education as the primary mode of instruction for all programmes, with the exception of labs, clinicals, fieldwork and practicals.

One of the key social innovations that the College has adopted is an extended orientation and onboarding process for students which will take place from September 7 – 18th 2020. Students will be experiencing training in online learning and study modalities to ensure an enriching experience. Online classes will officially begin September 21.

The College is looking forward to welcoming new and continuing students as we springboard into the new normal for higher education.
