Following the recommendations and acceptance of a Task Force Report, the Primary Schools Football Competition commencing 2019 has been adjusted to reflect more playing opportunities being provided and afforded to the young players.
The traditional Inter Primary Schools Football competition which has already commenced in some Districts will remain as is, however with a new twist.
Following the completion of each Inter Primary Schools competition the top two school teams from each District will move on to the round of sixteen.
There they will play a round robin competition in a Four Grouping prescribed format with the winner and second place team of each group advancing to the quarter final, semifinal and grand final, where the Primary Schools Football champion will be crowned.
Both the Inter District and Super Sixteen Competition will be held in the first term.
The competition culminates with the staging of the Inter District Primary Schools Football competition where the eight participating teams will be placed into two groups of fours.
Unlike previous years the groupings will no longer be north versus south, but rather a combination of both.
Hence the groupings for the 2019 Inter District Primary Schools Football competition will reflect the following:
Group A: District One, District Three, District Five andDistrict Seven.
Group B: District Two, District Four, District Six andDistrict Eight.
The format will feature a round robin competition with the top two Districts advancing to the semifinals and finals.
