The Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA) Inc. Western Zone Under-17 Football tournament finally kicked off with 1987 All Stars out of Anse la Raye making light work of CT Foundation 3 – 0.
Their goals were scored by Sherp Harris, Hanson Frederick and JohntaeSeraphine.
1987 All Stars which comprised the best youth talent from the community were the better team as they dominated from start to finish.
Meanwhile, two matches were played in the same competition in the Southern Zone at the Dames Playing Field in Vieux Fort.
In the first encounter Victory Eagles defeated Uptown Rebels 3 – 0, with their goal scorers being ShernelleHippolyte in the 30th minute, Zachary Edwin, 51st minute and DarnzelHunte in the 56th minute.
Unfortunately the game was marred by an incident in which the Uptown Rebels goal keeper Shaville Prescott suffered a broken leg.
In the second game played, Stable Boyz and Black Panthers played to an exciting 2 – 2. Jelani Adjodha scored a brace for Black Panthers in the 6th and 61st minute.
Stable Boyz got their goals from Archie Vigier in the 55th minute and Kareem Mc Farlane in the 86th minute.
