PRESS RELEASE — The Gros Islet North Youth and Sports Council is offering a unique opportunity to young people within the District of Gros Islet. The Council has opened applications to its NEET Youth Scholarship Programme in collaboration with the National Enrichment Learning Programme (NELP) sponsored by Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet Hon. Lenard ‘Spider’ Montoute, 1st National Bank, St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Authority (SLTHA), Meme Bete, Justice Mario Michel, Mrs. Barbara Montoute and Gros Islet Vendors Association.
The NEET Youth Scholarship Programme will provide NEET(Not in Employment, Education or Training) youth between the ages 15 – 29 to obtain a scholarship to study a course of their choosing from the NELP – Ministry of Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development.
The programme was conceptualized on the premise of reducing poverty, unemployment and under education amongst youth within the District of Gros Islet.
The Applicants must:
* Reside in the District of Gros Islet
* Be between the ages of 15 – 29
* Be unemployed and/or not be enrolled in any form of education or training
