
The 40th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will officially open on July 3, 2019 and continue until Friday July 5th, under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Allen Chastanet, who assumed the position from yesterday, for a six-month period. The highlight of the meeting will be the implementation of measures to enhance the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). Prime Minister Chastanet is expected to address Wednesday’s Opening Ceremony, which will also see presentations being made by outgoing Chairman, Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris of St Kitts and Nevis, and CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque.
