Axcel Finance, the leading regional microfinance institution in the Caribbean, is dedicated to providing micro-financial solutions to serve the needs of our communities and neighbours. The organisation is proud of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts across the country and region. They provide free financial management workshops to the staff of all Employers in our network, career preparation workshops for new entrants into the workplace, seminars in interview skills, and our leadership teams regularly collaborate with the schools in our communities.
With these efforts as a background, Axcel Finance continues to collaborate with all corporate entities in a meaningful way to host programmes that will have a positive impact in the workplace. On Tuesday May 7th, 2019 the company will be hosting a Career Preparation Workshop for fourth and fifth form students, and students enrolled in post-secondary programmes on the island at the National Cultural Centre from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The theme for this event is “It’s Never Enough to Only Dream of Success: Work for It!” The main aim of this event, according to Business Development Officer Mervin Agiste is “to highlight career preparation as one of the most important developmental processes in a student’s experience.”
“Students should strive to fine tune their career goals carefully,” he said. “Axcel Finance continues to lead the way in this important step in their young lives and will be focusing on a “career planning timetable” to help students gauge where they need to be in their career planning and how they can achieve these goals.”
He went on to add that there will be a series of presentations from leading industry professionals to include interview skills, resume writing and networking, along with perspective employers showcasing their organisations and recruitment efforts. There will also be a “Ted Talks” themed segment from leading professionals in various fields who will seek to motivate the young audience.”
This event promises to enlighten the young audience during a time in their lives where the decisions they make will have a lasting impact. The organisation believes that with the Department of Education, Digicel, Advizze Consultants and Renwick and Company on board to host the event, it will be a tremendous success.
