SLFA Football Round Up: 80 Goals Scored in 14 Matches

A record 80 goals were scored in 14 matches played this past weekend as goalkeepers were kept busy between the uprights when football action continued in the Saint Lucia Football Association Under-11 and Under-13 division in three zones (Northern, Western and Eastern).

Five matches were played in the Eastern Zone U11 and U13 competition at the Desruisseaux Playing Field.

On Saturday 6th April in a 10.00 a.m. encounter El Ninos drubbed Piton Travel 7 – 1 in the U11 division. Jahnil Jn. Baptiste scored a hat trick while Edric Popo and Jahim Bideau scored two goals each.

Trust Mathurin was Piton Travel’s lone goal scorer.

In a rescheduled U11 match in the afternoon El Ninos maintained their winning streak defeating Lion Heart 6 -1.

Edric Popo continued his prolific form scoring five goals with Jahnil Jn. Baptiste scoring the other.

Lion Heart’s lone goal was scored by Nathan Francis.

Also on Saturday in the U13 division, El Ninos outclassed their neighbours Lion Heart 5 – 0, with Edric Popo scoring a beaver trick and Jahnil Bideau scoring the other.

On Sunday 7th, two matches were played in the U13 Tournament.

In the first encounter, Aux Lyons and DCYO played to a goalless draw.

In game No.2, Uprising FC of Micoud dispatched TGM of Mon Repos 9 – 1.

They were helped with braces by Linton Emmanuel, Daniel Alexander and Dany Alexander. There was one each from Mathius Aubert, Dornely Verniege and Christian Mc Farlane.

Shervon Mathurin scored for TGM.

At the Corinth Playing Field, the weather did not put a damper on the teams or on their performances.

In Game 1, Flow Lancers outplayed B1 defeating them 4 – 1. They got their goals with a brace by Zane La Force in the 30th and 78th minute, while Glen Guiste scored the opener in the 20th minute and Noah Ermay the second in the 26th minute.

Joel Alexander scored for B1 in the 78th minute.

VSADC ran rings around their opponents Monchy FC in a lopsided affair rendering them an 11 – 1 defeat. At half time the scores were 9 – 0.

VSADC got their goals from a beaver-trick by Messiah in the 1st, 10th, 26th and 30th minute, a hat trick by Terrell Mitchel in the 14th, 19th and 22th minute, with the others by Ziquan Hippolyte in the 6th minute, Jean Quan John in the 29th minute, Ronaldo Serieux in the 45th minute and Adonyie Lucien in the 54th minute.

Russel Lastic pulled one back for Monchy in the 40th minute.

In the final game, Northern defeated GMC 2 – 1, after GMC had enjoyed a 1 – 0 advantage with a goal from Mike Castang in the first half.

Northern responded with two unanswered goals by Lyndon Alcide and Angelo Esper.

In the Western Zone, R.V. Juniors defeated No Fear 2 – 0 in the U11, with Teyon Mason scoring a brace.

Staying with the U11 division, Bays FC defeated 87 All-Stars 9 – 0. There were braces by Yandell Edward in the 6th and 20th minute, Tyler St. Rose in the 13th and 27th minute, Dervell Gustave in the 17th and 26th minute, and Trevon Felix, with Hayden James scoring in the 17th minute.

In U13 action, 87 All-Stars thrashed T Valley 8 – 1. All-Stars got their goals from a hat trick by Johntae Seraphine, two goals each by Russell Cadette and Barack Charles and one by Shelon Fitz.

In other U13 action,

Bays defeated CT Foundation 2 – 1. Scoring for Bays were Kim Dupre in the 38th minute and Tishone Stephen in the 60th minute.

Digard Pierre scored for CT Foundation in the 44th minute.

The SLFA Northern Zone Youth U11 Tournament continued on Saturday 6th April at the SAB playing facility, with a total of thirteen goals being scored.

Lancers FC defeated Flames FC 5 – 1, with goals by Mickel St. Claire, McQuan Byron, Terrel Marcion, Kwame Jules and Keenan Joseph.

Elijah Duverley scored for Flames FC.

VSADC outplayed FC Pioneers 4 – 0, with goals by Armani Lesmond 2, and one each from Kyle Noel and Jahnard Modeste.

Big Players and New Generation played to a 1 – 1 draw. New Generation conceded an own goal while McKendy Cadette scored for Big Players FC.

B1 FC edged out Monchy FC 1 – 0 with a Rashad Herman goal.
