While the tournament kicks off on Friday 5th April, Platinum FC’ first engagement is against Rams Village on Sunday 7th April and then Green Bay Hoppers on Tuesday 9th.

This championship will see two teams from each group going to the quarter-finals and subsequently semis and finals.

All matches in the group will be played in Curacao.  The bottom teams will also play each other for the purpose of seeding.

Team Manager Denver Samuel spoke to the VOICE about Platinum FC’s preparation heading to the championship and also his team’s chances of reaching the finals.

“We have been training since 2018 towards that championship; we also took the SLFA 2019 1st Division games as practice games. In the process, we lost one of our key players, Gregson President through injury in our third game. To date, he is recovering pretty well.

“Our problem has been scoring goals but on Saturday evening in the SLFA 1st Division Club Championship, we got it right,” he added. “We were on target. Platinum FC defeated Ti Rocher FC (Micoud) 6 -1. I think the team is ready and we have a good chance of reaching the finals.”

The full squad reads: Bernard Edward, Justin Joseph, Gregson President, Kurn Joseph, Antonius Myers, Khem Edgar, Dwayne Charles, Merhan Joseph, Shervin George, David Edward, Crispin Bastien, Hassan Evans, Alex Joseph, Delan James, Delon Neptune, Makesh Savery, Viannie George, Arkeem Myers, Noah Nicholas and Eddy St. Claire.
