PIONEER Productions, a company which after two successful productions, has made a mark for quality and sold out events, is back with yet another major showcase with the best of both worlds in Calypso and Soca music.
Now, on April 30th, 2019, the night before the Mayday Holiday, Pioneer Productions presents another grand event dubbed “Legacy- Sweetness.”
“Legacy-Sweetness” will feature from Trinidad and Tobago Singing Sandra and Farmer Nappy, Saint Lucia’s Groovy Soca stars Teddyson John, Arthur, Alpha, TC Brown and more.
It’s all going down at the new spacious and cozy side-lawn ambience of Gaiety Gardens, where patrons will have the options of standing to lime and party or being seated while enjoying the event.
There the showcase of the best in Caribbean Calypso and Groovy Soca will unfold, with the legendary Calypsonian Singing Sandra from Trinidad & Tobago, known for her inspiring compositions and vocals on hits like “Die with my Dignity” and “Voices from the Ghetto.”
The line-up keeps getting better, with a cast of the best Groovy Soca Monarchs that Saint Lucia has ever produced; Arthur, Alpha and Teddyson John will also be performing their hits.
TJ placed second in the International Groovy Soca Monarch in Trinidad in March with “Vent” and this will be his first major performance here since his successes during Trinidad’s carnival. Teddyson John created history this year for Saint Lucia, by placing second at the International Soca Monarch. “Legacy” will pay a special tribute to him at the event.
These harmonious groovy voices will be joined by Farmer Nappy from Trinidad with the biggest hit for the season “Hookin’ Meh.” Farmer Nappy, one of the more successful and consistent Groovy Soca performers in recent times, has chalked up hits like “My House” and “Big People Party.”
Organizers will also throw in a number of special treats on the night including a “Kaisoca” flashback led by TC Brown and budding Soca talent Ricardo, not to mention a bagful of surprises as “Legacy” is known for.
Of course the “Legacy” series is also known for its attractive décor, captivating atmosphere, stress free food and drinks booths and catering to the comfort and needs of patrons old and young and this event will be no different.
In 2018, Pioneer Productions introduced Calypso Legacy, featuring some of the most celebrated calypsonians in Saint Lucia as well as Gabby from Barbados. Leaving the audience thirsty for more, in February of this year, Pioneer returned with “Calypso Legacy – Independence Edition”. It was another hit, featuring a cast of the best of home based Saint Lucian Calypsonians, two from the Diaspora, as well as Baron from Trinidad & Tobago.
Don’t miss “Legacy-Sweetness,” April 30, 2019, Gaiety Gardens with limited early-bird tickets at EC$70 (regular EC$80.00). Tickets are available at Steve’s Barber Shop in Castries and the Wave in Rodney Bay.
“Legacy-Sweetness” is one which continues to celebrate the sweetness of Caribbean voices of Calypso and Soca, transferring Kaisoca pedigree between generations!
