ON Tuesday, March 26 students from five primary schools in the north of the island will showcase their knowledge of a range of topics during GrowWell’s 17th annual quiz. A fun and exciting challenge for students, it is a major event on the calendar of grade six students preparing for common entrance exams. Competing are Monchy Primary, Grand Riviere Primary, Gros Islet Primary, Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary and the Montessori Centre.
Students will be challenged on topics that include local language, culture, academics and entertainment. The quiz aims to encourage a diverse education experience in primary schools in Gros Islet and is enthusiastically supported by the community, particularly principals and teachers. The host of this year’s event is recently retired principal of Gros Islet Primary School Ms. Paula St Luce.
Due to the generous support the GrowWell Annual Primary Schol Quiz receives, every contestant goes home with a prize. Prizes include Kindles, mobile phones, lunches, skyrides tickets and cinema tickets. The event will be hosted in the VIP lounge of the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground and is supported by The Landings, Digicel, Rainforest SkyRides, Touch Therapies Day Spa, and the Rotary Club of Gros Islet.
