Piton Beer Recognized for Consistent High-Quality Brewing
PRESS RELEASE – The globally recognized Monde Selection International Quality Institute recently awarded Windward and Leeward Brewery Limited (WLBL) with a third consecutive Gold Quality Award for Piton Lager Beer. In addition to being honoured with its third consecutive Gold Quality Award, the “National Beer of Saint Lucia” was specifically recognized for its consistent high-quality standards and practices with the International High-Quality Trophy.
For Saint Lucians everywhere, this achievement is cause for national pride and celebration. WLBL’s, Mainstream Brand Manager, Sylvester Henry says, “This has legitimized the quality of Saint Lucian products amidst similar products manufactured from all over the world based on the impartial and prestigious reputation of the Monde Selection International Quality Institute.”
For the last 57 years, a panel of 70 plus experts annually converge on the Monde International Quality Institute where they rigorously review, taste and test thousands of products. These products come from all around the world and those with the highest quality are awarded the prestigious gold, silver or bronze international quality award.
This year, over 3000 products were submitted for judging by a panel of experts. Piton Lager beer was judged in the category of beers, soft drinks and water where the beer achieved its third consecutive Gold Quality Award status.
According to Mr. Henry, “Winning the Gold Quality Award is additional testimony to the quality of our workers, quality of our standards and the overall quality of our locally developed and produced beverages here on the tiny island of Saint Lucia.”
Along with the honour of being selected for the Monde Selection International High-Quality Award, the products are authorized to utilize the likeness of the award on packaging and promotional materials. WLBL has produced new labels for the “National Beer of Saint Lucia” proudly displaying their third consecutive Monde Selection International Quality Gold Medal. WLBL also plans to use the honour in additional packaging and promotional materials and to feature the award winning Piton Lager Beer in a variety of events in the near future.
Piton Lager Beer was first introduced to Saint Lucia in 1992 by WLBL and is marking 26 years of local production. (WLBL)
