PRESS RELEASE – THE Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards (SLBS) invited the media to its Bisee Headquarters, to announce the launch of its newly revamped website on Monday.
SLBS employee Marciano Busby stated that it was important for the Bureau to update its website in its ongoing efforts to sensitize the general public about the very many issues which fall under its purview.
“We wanted to bring our website into the present times because our original site had been designed back in 2011 and so we just wanted to give it a facelift and extra functionality.” Busby stated.
He went on to elaborate on the search function on the site, where browsers are now able to simply type in a product’s SLBS standard that they wish.
“If you’re looking for a standard for a certain product, for example breadfruit, it will bring you to our standard for breadfruit and provide you with additional information.”
Busby provided the media with a demonstration of the search function, where the results for breadfruit immediately popped up.
He explained that with this function: “It’s easier for you to acquire information about standards and (information that’s) relevant to standards.”
Busby also pointed out that the SLBS information is available right there on the website and stated that “we also appreciate when people call in and enquire because we are very happy to hear any questions and any enquiries that a user may have.”
