PRESS RELEASE – A VERY close game between the Montessori Centre and Dame PearletteLouisy primary schools who were neck and neck in the final phase of the 16th annual Grow Well General Knowledge Quiz which took place Friday, March 9th, 2018. Two of the brightest students from each of six primary schools in the Gros Islet District participated in this annual competition which took place in the VIP lounge of the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium.
Kayla Samson and Alannah Bousquet of The Montessori Centre, were consistently smiling girls who always answered in unison, and Dame PearletteLouisy’s determined boys Deryn Leslie and Tre Philip were locked in battle. The boys quietly pulled ahead, but it was Montessori’s day, and with luck and brilliant teamwork, they prevailed to a shouting, standing ovation from their schoolmates.
More drama ensued as the Bonne Terre Preparatory School and Grande Riviere Primary School were tied for third place which took four overtime rounds for Grande Riviere to pull ahead. Congratulations to Arianna Mathurin and Micaela Parker of Bonne Terre Preparatory School and Jeanelle Richardson and Makellah Charles of Grande Riviere Primary School. Additional congratulations to Roselle Duquesne and Amelia Rosemond of Monchy Primary School and Nathan Etienne and Juanita Nathaniel of Gros Islet Primary School.
All contestants received prizes, compliments of The Landings the competition’s major sponsor, and from FLOW, Rainforest Sky Rides. Splash Island Water Park and Caribbean Cinemas, annual sponsors of Grow Well’s educational event.
